Mr. Lippold is a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Chicago and in 1937 was awarded a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Art Institute School. During his career, he has completed a number of important commissions including works in Chicago's Inland-Steel Building lobby, The Four Season's Restaurant in the Seagram Building, NYC, and most recently, St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco, California. Mr. Lippold's work is represented in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, the Wadsworth Athenaeum, Hartford, Connecticut, the Detroit Institute of Arts, and Phillips Academy, Andover, Massachusetts. In 1960, he was awarded the American Institute of Architects, New York Chapter, silver medal.
