Beware the Ides of March - prepare now to come to the next meeting to be held March 15th. Our renowned speaker will be Rudolf Arnheim, the celebrated psychologist and aesthetician. Mr. Arnheim is professor of psychology of art at Sarah Lawrence College. His book Art and Visual Perception is a recognized classic in its field. An important recent publication from his hand is Picasso's "Guernica"- The Genesis of a Painting. Mr. Arnheim is a noted and frequent contributor to many learned publications such as The Journal of Aesthetics but lest this frighten you, his articles are lucid, understandable and never, never dull. This should be a refreshing talk with many illuminating insights and clarifications in the complexities of art and the human response. The title of his talk is "The Dynamics of Shape".
