The 31st Annual Exhibition of the Society for Contemporary Art featured 132 "Works on Paper" from artists like Lee Bontecou, Jean Dubuffet, Mark di Suvero, Jasper Johns, Bruce Nauman, Louise Nevelson, Jim Dine, Alexander Calder, Oskar Kokoschka, Robert Rauschenberg, Ed Paschke, and Andy Warhol. The artworks included in this exhibition were selected by members of the Society, which in turn, vote to select the which will be the gift of the Society to The Art Institute of Chicago. This year, Untitled by Jasper Johns, Exploratory Studies by June Leaf, Cakes No. 1 by Wayne Thiebaud were selected as the gift of the Society to The Art Institute of Chicago. Members are invited for the opening of the exhibition, dinner and special preview. Following dinner, Mr. Harold Joachim, Curator of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute will speak briefly on the exhibition.
