The Art Institute of Chicago
The 22nd Annual Exhibition of the Society for Contemporary American Art featured 58 works of painting or sculpture by American artists like Elias Friedenshon, Raoul Hague, Harry Bouras, Burgoyne Diller, Carter Gibson, and Theodore Halkin. The artworks included in this exhibition were selected by members of the Society, which in turn, vote to select the which will be the gift of the Society to The Art Institute of Chicago. It is the purpose of the Society to provide an interesting program throughout the year, but primarily, to provide The Art Institute, through the means of our exhibition, with one work of painting or sculpture by an American artist. This year, Untitled by Raoul Hague was selected as the gift of the Society to The Art Institute of Chicago.
