1996 Annual Meeting and Acquisition Vote

Our Annual Meeting and dinner will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 1996 in The Stock Exchange Trading Room of The Art Institute of Chicago. As in the past, the Society will select by vote, a work of contemporary art to present as a gift to the Art Institute. The Society?s members will again be asked to select this gift from the works and artists briefly described in the enclosed. As a special courtesy to our members these pieces will be on display in Gallery 271 of the Rice Building from April 22 through April 30, 1996. Members are strongly encouraged to visit the gallery and view the works prior to April 30th. Madeleine Grynsztejn, Acting Department Head, Twentieth Century Art Department, will speak at the annual meeting about these works and the artists who created them. Works by the following artists are being considered for the 1996 Gift of the SCA: Pier Paolo Calzolari, Edward Ruscha, Jessica Stockholder and Christopher Wool. In addition, at the annual meeting, we will vote on the officers and directors of the Society for the coming year.
