This new classroom-style program is a chronological survey of Contemporary Art in five distinct sessions. It will include a 45-minute general overview of the artistic movement in the classroom including major cultural events of the period, material processes, artistic trends and theories. This will be followed by a 30-minute gallery tour to focus on specific examples in the Art Institute’s collection. The weekly topics will focus on historical movement, but will also demonstrate how some of the artistic principles are also used today. A supplemental handout will be distributed for all topics.
These sessions will be led by Rowley Kennerk and John McKinnon.
Each session: $15 member / $35 non-member
