The McDougal and Lauter McDougal Residence
Long-time supporters of The Art Institute of Chicago, Fred and Nancy?s extensive collection includes historical and recent abstraction?including artists such as Blinky Palermo, James Bishop, Myron Stout, Yayoi Kusama, Tomma Abts, and Suzanne Frecon?contemporary figurative painting?including Lisa Yuskavage, Marlene Dumas, Luc Tuymans, and Karen Kilimnik?and a small focus on Latin American art?including Leonilson, Gego, Ernesto Neto, and Helio Oiticica. Nancy, former president of the Society for Contemporary Art (2000?2002), is a member of the Board of Trustees and is Vice Chairman of the Committee on Contemporary Art. Since 2002 the Alfred L. McDougal and Nancy Lauter McDougal Fund for Contemporary Art has generously supported focus, a series of one-person contemporary art exhibitions organized by the Department of Contemporary Art. Their collection is housed in a vintage East Lake Shore Drive apartment building with spectacular views of Lake Michigan. We hope you can join us for what promises to be an enjoyable event.
